The fourth race at Lone Star Park April 18 delivered a trifecta of firsts.

When Berry Mischievous crossed the wire in front 3 1/2 lengths the best, he became the first winner for his sire Tiz Mischief, for his dam Alpine Strawberry, and his jockey Valentin Camacho.

Solitude Thoroughbreds bred Berry Mischievous, a 3-year-old gelding, and sold him as an intact colt for $6,000 during the 2023 Texas Thoroughbred Association Summer Yearling Sale to Double S Dreams. The farm stands Tiz Mischief, a 10-year-old son of multiple leading North American sire Into Mischief , who was second in the Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes (G2) at 2 and second in the Matt Winn Stakes (G3) at 3. He stands for $3,000.

Solitude Thoroughbreds founder Melanie Martinelli acquired Alpine Strawberry for $1,500 during the 2020 TTA Winter Mixed through agent Jenna Harrison. The daughter of Fort Larned is a half sister to stakes winner Our Silver Oak (by Unusual Heat). The mare has a 2-year-old full brother to Berry Mischievous and a yearling colt by King Zachary, who also stands at Solitude Thoroughbreds.

Berry Mischievous ran third in his racing debut in February at Sam Houston Race Park for owner/trainer Austin Gustafson and then tried stakes company in his next start, finishing off the board in the Jim's Orbit Stakes. Back among maidens, he was second in March at Sam Houston before delivering the first win for Camacho, who was also making his first career start.
