Woodbine canceled racing June 6 due to poor air quality, the Canadian track announced on social media. Woodbine stated that its decision to cancel comes after consultation with the Horsemen's Benevolent and Protective Association of Ontario and guidelines from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.
Woodbine is located in Etobicoke, Ontario, to the north of Toronto. Poor air quality in that region is attributed to massive wildfires across portions of Canada.
Live racing is scheduled to resume June 7.
