Three Chimneys Farm announced Jan. 10 that Volatile  sired his first reported foal, a filly, at Mallory Farm near Lexington.

Bred by Torie Gladwell, the chestnut filly is out of the winning Sidney's Candy daughter Jeweled, who boasts more than 20 stakes performers under the first three dams of her pedigree, including Kentucky Oaks (G1) winner Summerly and grade 1-placed, grade 3 winner Darby Shuffle.

"We sold (the filly's) dam, who was drop dead gorgeous, to Bob Baffert as a yearling," said Gladwell. "We were fortunate enough to be able to get her back. The filly has the same qualities as the mare—great looking, well balanced, full of substance, with a ton of class. We couldn't be more delighted."

Volatile, a 6-year-old son of Violence , won the 2020 Alfred G. Vanderbilt Stakes (G1) and ran the year's fastest Beyer Speed Figure. His eight-length romp in the Aristides Stakes at Churchill Downs, run in 1:07.57, earned him a 112 Beyer. Racing for Three Chimneys and Phoenix Thoroughbred III and trained by Steve Asmussen, Volatile won five of six starts and was second once. He retired with $341,040 in earnings.

Volatile received strong support his first year stud, breeding a 181 mares last year. The stallion stands at Three Chimneys for $15,000.
