Ashford Stud stallion Echo Town  was represented by his first reported foals in recent days. First, Miss Sephora, a half sister to graded stakes winner Pataky Kid, produced a bay filly bred by Allen Poindexter, and then Jan. 13, My Tempo foaled a chestnut colt at Chesapeake Farm bred by Crown Chase Farm.

A First Samurai  filly, Miss Sephora, was unplaced in her lone start for Poindexter.

"She's a good correct, leggy quality foal. Delighted with her," said Tim Hamlin of Wynnstay Farm. "We'll be sending mares back to Echo Town in 2022."

My Tempo, a 6-year-old by Declaration of War, also retired a maiden, doing so after four starts.

"He is a really nice colt, very correct with plenty of bone and quality," said Collier Mathes, owner/operator of Chesapeake Farm. "After seeing him, Echo Town is definitely a stallion that I'd be looking to breed back to."

Echo Town, by Speightstown out of the Menifee mare Letgomyecho, is a half sister to Echo Zulu, the likely champion 2-year-old filly of 2021.

Echo Town won the H. Allen Jerkens Stakes Presented by Runhappy (G1) at Saratoga Race Course as a 3-year-old in 2020 before entering stud in 2021. He also placed as a sophomore in graded company in the Woody Stephens Stakes Presented by Claiborne Farm (G1) and against older horses in the Stoll Keenon Ogden Phoenix Stakes (G2).
