Winchell Thoroughbreds' homebred stakes winner Pneumatic, a 5-year-old son of Uncle Mo, has been sold and will enter stud at Haras Abolengo in Argentina, according to bloodstock agent Carlos S.E. Moore.

Pneumatic competed successfully among the best 3-year-olds of 2020. He won his first two starts for trainer Steve Asmussen and then finished third in the Matt Winn Stakes (G3), only 1 3/4 lengths behind winner Maxfield  (already a grade 1 winner) and grade 1-placed stakes winner Ny Traffic. He went on to finish fourth in the Belmont Stakes Presented by NYRA Bets (G1) and followed that performance with a win in the TVG.com Pegasus Stakes at Monmouth Park, in which he defeated multiple grade 1-placed Jesus' Team by 2 1/4 lengths. An injury suffered in the Preakness Stakes (G1) put him on the sideline for nearly a year. He eventually was retired with 3-0-2 record from eight starts and $275,390 in earnings.

Pneumatic is out of Teardrop, a stakes-placed winner by Tapit , who is a full sister to group 1-placed stakes winner Farrier and grade 3 winner War Echo and a half sister to grade 1 winner and sire Pyro. His immediate family also produced Fun House, the dam of grade 1 stakes winner and champion Untapable, along with grade 1 winners Cuvee and Olympio.

Haras Abolengo is the breeder of prominent sire Candy Ride .
