Bright Forecast is Cloud Computing's First Winner

The colt out of Miss Acorn won June 30 at first asking at Delaware Park.

Hoofprints, Inc.

Spendthrift Farm's freshman sire and Preakness Stakes (G1) winner Cloud Computing  sired his first winner June 30 when his son Bright Forecast won his racing debut at Delaware Park.

Bred in Kentucky by Jay Goodwin and Cloyce Clark Jr., the colt sold at the Ocala Breeders' Sales Spring 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale for $35,000 to Manfred Roos from the Fabian Sales consignment.

Roos sent the colt to trainer John Rigattieri who gave Bright Forecast his first test in a five-furlong maiden claiming race. He won by 3 1/2 lengths in a final time of :59.05.

Bright Forecast is out of the winning Giant Oak mare Miss Acorn, who is a half sister to stakes winner Blame the Rider (Jimmy Creed ) and to grade 3-placed winner Small Town Talk (Yes It's True). Miss Acorn has a yearling filly by Take Charge Indy  and produced a Sharp Azteca colt this year. Bright Forecast is also the mare's first winner.

Cloud Computing is an 8-year-old son of Hill 'n' Dale Farms at Xalapa's Maclean's Music . He made his racing debut at 3 with trainer Chad Brown and also won at first asking. In his next two starts, he was second in the Gotham Stakes (G3) and third in the Wood Memorial Presented by NYRA Bets (G2) and went on to capture the Preakness.

The stallion stood at Spendthrift for $5,000 in 2022.
