Fasig-Tipton and The Jockey Club have today confirmed that Fasig-Tipton will sponsor Sandown Park's prestigious Solario Stakes.
The Fasig-Tipton Night of the Stars Solario Stakes, a Group 3 event for 2-year-olds going seven furlongs, will be contested this coming Saturday.

The race is named for Fasig-Tipton's November Sale, the company's world-class breeding stock auction that is commonly referred to as the "Night of the Stars." The sale is held each year immediately following the Breeders' Cup at Fasig-Tipton's Lexington, Kentucky facility.

Notable recent winners of the Fasig-Tipton Night of the Stars Solario Stakes (G3) include Too Darn Hot, Masar, Kingman, and Raven's Pass.

"We are pleased to form a partnership with Sandown Park and The Jockey Club to sponsor the Solario Stakes to promote our Night of the Stars November Sale," said Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning. "Our November Sale has a tremendous track record selling top quality race fillies and mares with elite European form and pedigree. Sponsoring the Solario Stakes provides us with an exciting vehicle by which to market the sale to European owners and consignors that may wish to offer their stock at auction."

Andrew Cooper, Head of Racing and Clerk of the Course at Sandown Park, said:

"We are thrilled to be welcoming Fasig-Tipton as partners for this weekend's Solario Stakes. It is a proven stepping stone for future stars and this year's renewal is shaping up to be an extremely exciting one with a number of unbeaten and hugely promising colts engaged at the entry stage."

In 2021, Fasig-Tipton's one night November auction sold 26 fillies and mares for $1,000,000 or higher -- including the eight highest price fillies and mares sold in North America that year. Among these top sellers was broodmare Magical World, offered in foal to Into Mischief, whose $5.2 million hammer price made her the most expensive Thoroughbred sold in the world in 2021. The auction also produced the world's most expensive racing/broodmare prospect (Shedaresthedevil for $5,000,000) and broodmare prospect (Swiss Skydiver for $4,700,000) of 2021. The auction's average price of $695,966 was the highest of any breeding stock sale in the world last year, as well.

This year's Fasig-Tipton "Night of the Stars" November Sale will be held on Sunday, November 6.
