Second-crop sire Editorial , an 8-year-old son of War Front  and half brother to leading sire Uncle Mo , has been relocated from Maryland to Rancho San Miguel in San Miguel, Calif., for the 2023 breeding season. His fee will be $3,500 with a live foal guarantee.

Editorial has sired four winners from seven starters, led by dual stakes winner Alottahope. A 3-year-old gelding, Alottahope has won five of 10 career starts, including this year's Star De Naskra Stakes at Laurel Park—won by 15 lengths; and, the Robert Hilton Memorial Stakes at Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races & Slots that he won by 2 3/4 lengths. Alottahope was bred in Maryland by Drs. Tom and Brooke Bowman out of the Midnight Lute  mare Alottalute.

Editorial is also represented by the black type-placed multiple winner My Thoughts from his inaugural crop. The sophomore filly broke her maiden at first asking last year and followed with a second in the Maryland Million Lassie Stakes. Most recently, she defeated eight of her elders in the non-black-type Fort Indiantown Gap Stakes Aug. 19 on the turf at Penn National, where she covered 1 1/16 miles in 1:39.94. My Thoughts was bred in Maryland by Harry Kassap out of the With Distinction winner Be My Love.

"If I were to compare the U.S. stallion market to the U.S. stock market, I would say we are acquiring an emerging stock at the optimal time for California breeders," said Rancho San Miguel owner Tom Clark. "Editorial has come out firing with quality in his first batch of runners and has already shown that he can significantly improve his mares.

"His rare combination of sire power in War Front and Uncle Mo is sure to appeal to our state's breeders, who enjoy racing on a variety of surfaces and at a variety of distances," Clark added. "Climax Stallions is retaining an ownership stake in Editorial, so he will be well-supported with top mares, including from our farm, as we take the baton and navigate him through the important next phase of his stallion career."

Editorial, bred by the Playa Maya Syndicate, had limited opportunities to showcase his talent on the track, having made two career starts for trainer Todd Pletcher and owners Susan Magnier, Michael Tabor, and Derrick Smith. He was second in his debut and overcame a wide trip in his second start to win at Gulfstream Park going 7 1/2 furlongs on the grass. Editorial stood his first three years at stud at Roland Farm in Maryland and stood one season in Peru before being relocated to Anchor & Hope Farm, where he stood in 2021-22.

Editorial is available for inspection at Rancho San Miguel.
