Cricket Goodall, executive director of the Maryland Horse Breeders Association (MHBA), has been named Honorary Postmaster for Preakness 148.

Goodall came to the Maryland Horse Breeders Association in 1986 to work on Maryland Million Day, founded by sportscaster Jim McKay to celebrate Maryland horses. It has inspired several copycat events throughout North America. Goodall has been promoting Maryland's horse breeding and racing legacy ever since and has been instrumental in preserving the rich history of Maryland breeding and racing.

The legendary Alibi Breakfast, held Thursday, May 18, at Pimlico Race Course, began in the 1930s on the porch of the old Pimlico Clubhouse and features a gathering of media, owners, trainers, jockeys, horsemen, and fans to celebrate the Preakness while gaining interesting and humorous race predictions.

Tickets are available at: https://am.ticketmaster.com/marylandjockeyclub/ALIBI.

In 1996, the United States Postal Service opened a temporary Preakness station at Pimlico the week of the Preakness.

Past honorary postmasters have included Hall of Fame trainers D. Wayne Lukas and Nick Zito, champions Cigar, Ben's Cat, and Knicks Go, and the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance.
