Graded stakes winner Beatbox, a Pioneerof the Nile half brother to multiple grade 1 winner Guarana, has been retired from racing. The 6-year-old horse will be offered as a stallion prospect at the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale.

Consigned by Lane's End as Hip 3083, the dual-surface winner will be available for presale inspection in Barn 6. He will be offered Nov. 12.

Bred in Kentucky by Three Chimneys Farm, Beatbox was sold for $2.1 million at the 2019 Keeneland September Yearling Sale to e Five Racing, which initially raced the colt with Three Chimneys. After capturing his first win at The Meadowlands at 3, Beatbox was sold at the 2021 Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale for $70,000 to Newport Steele and thereafter raced for Rob Comestro and Jeff Ganje.

Beatbox earned his first stakes win at 4 in the 2022 Dust Commander Stakes at Turfway Park and from 4 to 6 won the Fair Grounds Stakes (G3T) and placed in three other stakes, which included runner-up efforts in the Buddy Diliberto Memorial Stakes and Colonel E. R. Bradley Stakes, both on turf.

He retires with a 6-3-2 record from 20 starts and $427,248 in earnings.

"Beatbox is the type of horse you love to train," said trainer Cherie DeVaux, who saddled the two-turn specialist for Ganje and Comestro. "He was solid and consistent in his races, and a joy around the barn."

Guarana and Beatbox are the most accomplished runners to date for the winning Distorted Humor mare Magical World. Guarana (Ghostzapper ) won three grade 1 stakes and earned nearly $1.08 million. They are also half siblings to grade 2-placed stakes winner Magic Dance (More Than Ready).

Magical World is out of 2005 Breeders' Cup Distaff (G1) winner Pleasant Home (Seeking the Gold), who is a full sister to multiple graded stakes winner and graded stakes producer Country Hideaway. The immediate family also includes multiple grade 1 winner and successful sire Point of Entry , multiple grade 1 winner Pine Island, and grade 1-placed, grade 3 winner Great Island. Beatbox's third dam, Our Country Place, is a half sister to 1994 champion older mare Sky Beauty.

"Beatbox had a little setback in training, so our team collectively felt it was time to retire him," said Ganje, who also campaigns the current graded stakes winner and $1,104,757 earner Shotgun Hottie with DeVaux. "We believe he is an outstanding and well-rounded stallion prospect, and we are excited to point him toward this next stage of his progression."

Pioneerof the Nile had nine commercially active sons at stud this year, including 2015 Triple Crown winner American Pharoah , top five freshman sire Thousand Words , co-top 10 sire by number of 2024 stakes winners Cairo Prince , and leading Florida second-crop sire St Patrick's Day .
