Grade 1 winner Seeking the Soul  was represented by his first winner Jan. 8 when Queen of Soul won the third race at Gulfstream Park, a one-mile maiden race for $12,500 claimers.

The 3-year-old filly set comfortable fractions on the lead in her second career start under jockey Reylu Gutierrez. Queen of Soul opened a clear advantage by midstretch, which gave her a cushion to withstand the late charge of Wink of an Eye, stopping the clock in 1:40.11 while hitting the wire a half-length in front.

Bred in Florida by Dianette Rivas and Amanda Laderer, Queen of Soul is owned by Forever Young Racing and trained by Joseph Orseno. Out of the winning Saint Liam mare Tribecky, she is a half sister to stakes winner Lady Milagro (First Dude ).

On the track Seeking the Soul posted a career record of 7-6-7 from 32 starts, earning $3,470,153.

A homebred for Charles Fipke trained by Dallas Stewart, the son of Perfect Soul won the 2017 Clark Handicap (G1), 2018 Ack Ack Stakes (G3), and 2019 Stephen Foster Stakes (G2), all hosted at Churchill Downs. He was also runner-up in the 2018 Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile (G1) and 2019 Pegasus World Cup Invitational Stakes (G1) and was third in the 2018 Clark.

Seeking the Soul stands the 2025 season at Ocala Stud in Ocala, Fla., for $5,000.
