The catalog for the Ocala Breeders' Sales Spring Sale of 2-Year-Olds in Training is now available online.
The four-day sale will take place April 15-18 with each session beginning at 10:30 a.m. ET. Hips 1-302 will sell April 15 with hips 303-604 going April 16. April 17 will offer hips 605-906 with the sale concluding April 18 with hips 907-1207.
The under tack show will run April 6-12 starting at 8 a.m. ET each day. Hips 1-173 are slated for April 6 followed by hips 174-346 April 7, hips 347-519 April 8, and hips 520-691 April 9. The final three days of the under tack show will have hips 692-863 going April 10 followed by hips 864-1035 April 11 and hips 1036-1207 April 12.
The OBS Spring Sale also offers the entry option of "Gallop Only" where sellers can enter their horses with this designation, which will be on the catalog page.
The under tack show and sale will be streamed live via the OBS website as well as the BloodHorse website.
Notable graduates out of the 2024 OBS Spring sale include multiple grade 1 winner Chancer McPatrick, grade 1 winner Tenma, Saudi Derby (G3) winner Golden Vekoma, graded stakes winners May Day Ready and Mo Plex, and recent grade 3 winner Vixen.
Cavalieri, winner of the B. Wayne Hughes Beholder Mile Stakes (G1) March 8, is another notable OBS Spring sale graduate having sold at the 2023 edition of the auction.
Chancer McPatrick and Cogburn , both of whom were Eclipse Awards finalists in 2024, are featured on the OBS Spring catalog cover.
Flanagan Racing's Chancer McPatrick (McKinzie ) won three of four starts last year including the Hopeful (G1) and Champagne (G1) stakes en route to becoming an Eclipse Awards finalist for champion 2-year-old male. Chancer McPatrick was purchased for $725,000 at the 2024 OBS Spring sale by Kimmel & Sallusto, agent, from the consignment of Caliente Thoroughbreds after breezing a quarter-mile in :21.
Clark Brewster and William and Corinne Heiligbrodt's Cogburn is standing his first season at stud at WinStar Farm and was an Eclipse Award finalist for champion male sprinter. The son of Not This Time won three of four starts last year with the highlight being his record-setting triumph in the Jaipur Stakes (G1T) last June.
Cogburn was purchased for $150,000 by Brewster at the 2021 OBS Spring sale from the Pick View consignment. A full brother to Cogburn sold for $650,000 to Katsumi Yoshida from the consignment of Hartley/DeRenzo Thoroughbreds at the recent OBS March 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale.
