Northview Stallion's Engage , a multiple graded stakes winner by Into Mischief , got his first winner Aug. 24 when La Resolana won a maiden special weight race at Monmouth Park.
The 2-year-old filly was making her second start following a sixth-place debut July 26.
Owned by Gerardo Franco and trained by Jose Lozano Sanchez, La Resolana bumped a rival at the start and pressed early pacesetter Aria D, who went the opening quarter mile in :22.32. La Resolana then took over at the quarter pole and drew clear to win by 8 1/4 lengths. She finished the 5 1/2 furlongs in 1:06.11 under Christian Maragh over a track rated fast.
La Resolana was bred in New Jersey by Franco. She is out of the stakes-placed Drosselmeyer mare Sweetest Yet.
Engage began his career with trainer Chad Brown before joining Hall of Fame trainer Steve Asmussen. During his 4-year-old season in 2019, he notched his biggest victory when he defeated future champion Whitmore in the Phoenix Stakes (G2) at Keeneland. That win earned him a berth in the Breeders' Cup Sprint (G1) that fall, where he finished fourth behind Mitole at Santa Anita Park.
Engage stands at Northview Stallion Station in Chesapeake City, Md. He stood the 2025 season for an advertised fee of $5,000.
