Keeneland announced Sept. 18 that Taylor Made Sales Agency will offer a share in leading sire Not This Time at the second edition of the Keeneland Championship Sale, to be held in the Del Mar paddock Oct. 29, two days before the Breeders' Cup World Championships.
A unique feature of the share is that it will include all income from Not This Time's 2025 breeding season, providing immediate returns. Through Sept. 18, he is the second-leading sire in North America this year behind Into Mischief . Not This Time stands at Taylor Made Stallions near Nicholasville, Ky.
The share is being offered by Aaron and Marie Jones LLC, a globally respected operation that has bred and raised top-class horses for decades. Among the winners produced by their program are Racing Hall of Famer Ashado; champion, 2004 Breeders' Cup Sprint (G1) winner, and leading sire Speightstown; 2011 Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) winner Drosselmeyer; and undefeated Hopeful Stakes (G1) winner Ted Noffey.
Not This Time, a brilliant son of Giant's Causeway, has quickly established himself as one of North America's premier stallions. Sire of eight grade 1 winners, he is among the few stallions in history to sire Eclipse award winners on both dirt and turf, following in the footsteps of his illustrious sire. Headlining his early crops are 2022 champion 3-year-old male Epicenter , 2023 champion turf male Up to the Mark , and grass speedster Cogburn . His other grade 1 winners are Just One Wish, Princess Noor, Sacred Wish, Sibelius, and Troubleshooting. He also is the sire of Shareholder, a group 2 winner at Royal Ascot in England.
Not This Time's momentum continues this year with emerging stars from his latest 2-year-old crop, including It's Our Time, an impressive debut winner at Saratoga Race Course in August. He is pointed toward the Champagne Stakes (G1) early next month.
"Not This Time has quickly established himself as one of North America's most exciting stallions, with runners winning at the highest levels and yearlings bringing top prices in the sales ring," Taylor Made director of new business development Frank Taylor said. "What makes this opportunity stand out is that the buyer will receive all income from Not This Time's 2025 breeding season, meaning returns start right away. Chances like this don't come around often, and we're thrilled to offer this share at the Championship Sale."
Demand for Not This Time's offspring is undeniable. At the Keeneland September Yearling Sale, he was among the most sought-after sires with 14 yearlings bringing $1 million or more, topped by a $2 million filly. Through the ninth session of the 12-day say, his yearlings averaged $701,455 while grossing $38.58 million for 55 sold, and he was the leading sire of multiple sessions.
"The incredible success of Not This Time's yearlings at our September sale underscores just how much global demand there is for his progeny and how well they've delivered on racing's biggest stages," Keeneland vice president of sales Tony Lacy said. "To present a share in a stallion of this caliber—and to do so on the unique stage of the Championship Sale—is a rare and exciting opportunity."
The Championship Sale, launched in 2024 when hosted at Del Mar, spotlights elite offerings that invite buyers to compete at the pinnacle of the sport, from Breeders' Cup contenders and accomplished stakes performers to rare opportunities in stallion shares. The evening begins with a 5 p.m. PT cocktail reception, followed by the live sale at 6:30 p.m. PT.
