Canadian classic race winners Mansetti and Runaway Again meet for round three when they square off in the CA$150,000 Ontario Derby (G3) Oct. 18 at Woodbine. With each 3-year-old claiming one victory apiece over the other, Saturday's 1 1/8-mile contest will be the match to settle the score in the division race for Canada's top 3-year-old.

In the pair's first meeting, Al and Bill Ulwelling's Mansetti got the better of Runaway Again with a sparkling front-running win in the rich King's Plate Stakes Aug. 16. The lightly raced Runaway Again, making only the second start of his career in the King's Plate, would finish 10th in a troubled trip.

Next time out, Runaway Again, trained by Sid Attard for Stronach Stables, denied Mansetti by a half-length in the second jewel of the Canadian Triple Crown in the Sept. 9 Prince of Wales Stakes at Fort Erie

"Obviously, you want to win, but it was a very gutsy performance," Mansetti's trainer Kevin Attard said. "We wanted to give him time after running two demanding races, which he absolutely deserved, and now he's ready to get back at it.

"He's doing well and you can see he's ready to get out there and do his thing."

Mansetti, breaking from the 2 post, appears to be the controlling speed in the field of seven. Pietro Moran, the Collected  colt's pilot for his last three outings, has the call.

Borealis Trail, winless in two tries on Woodbine's synthetic main track and recently a narrow second in the Sept. 28 Breeders' Stakes, is also in the field.
