Keeneland has announced Oct. 17 two supplemental entries consigned by Royal Oak Farm (Damian and Braxton Lynch), agent for BBN Racing, to upcoming sales.
- Millionaire and Test Stakes (G1) winner Kilwin has been supplemented to Book 1 of the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale Nov. 4. She is cataloged as a racing or broodmare prospect.
- A 25% ownership interest in last-out grade 3 winner and Travers Stakes (G1) runner-up Bracket Buster will be offered in the second edition of the Keeneland Championship Sale in the Del Mar paddock Oct. 29.
Kilwin, a 3-year-old daughter of Twirling Candy named for the famous candy and ice cream chain, is one of the top filly sprinters in the country. She has four wins in eight starts led by the Aug. 2 Test victory on dirt at Saratoga Race Course and the 2024 Untapable Stakes on turf at Kentucky Downs at 2. In June, she also captured the Leslie's Lady Overnight Stakes at Churchill Downs.
In the 7-furlong Test, Kilwin stumbled badly at the start and was so far behind early that she appeared to be hopelessly beaten but unleashed a commanding stretch run to win by a neck.
"I was watching the TV, and she wasn't on the TV," trainer Rusty Arnold said. "I didn't even consider that she was still in the race."
Kilwin is a half sister to grade 2 winner and millionaire One Timer and stakes winner and grade 1-placed Just Basking. Kilwin's dam is the Blame mare Spanish Star, a half sister to 2019 Belmont Stakes (G1) winner Sir Winston .
"Kilwin is an incredibly versatile performer who was precocious at 2 with a win in a million-dollar race on turf and the next year scored a grade 1 victory on dirt at Saratoga with a heart-stopping performance to win one of America's most historic races," BBN Racing founding partner Brian Klatsky said. "With her prowess on dirt and turf, she's a true collector's item."
The November Breeding Stock sale, which will cover eight days through Nov. 11, has cataloged 3,085 horses.
Keeneland will consider supplemental entries to Book 1 until the auction begins.
Bracket Buster to Keeneland Championship Sale
Bracket Buster, who is based at Keeneland with trainer Vicki Oliver, has carried his talents to six tracks. In April at Keeneland, the Vekoma colt made his 3-year-old debut in the Lexington Stakes (G3) at 1 1/16 miles and finished a strong second in the seven-horse field.
At Monmouth Park, Bracket Buster won the Pegasus Stakes by 7 lengths and was fourth in the Haskell Stakes (G1). He resurfaced in another top-level race, the Travers at Saratoga in August, finishing second to Kentucky Derby (G1) and Belmont winner Sovereignty.
A month later, Bracket Buster traveled to Remington Park, where he won the Oklahoma Derby (G3) as the odds-on favorite. The colt lived up to his support at the betting window by stalking the early leader, pouncing in early stretch and drawing off to an easy 3 1/4-length win.
Bracket Buster is scheduled to make his next start Oct. 25 in the Fayette Stakes (G3) on closing day of Keeneland's fall meet or Nov. 1 in the $1 million Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile (G1) at Del Mar.
"BBN Racing purchased both Kilwin and Bracket Buster at Keeneland's September Yearling Sale, and both horses are wonderful additions to our upcoming sales," Keeneland vice president of sales Tony Lacy said. "We thank them for their tremendous support."
