Multiple group winner and group 1-placed Beauvatier, who was last seen winning the Challenge Stakes (G2) at Newmarket Racecourse, will stand at Haras d'Etreham in 2026.
The 4-year-old son of Lope de Vega was a tough and talented performer for trainer Yann Barberot. He made a successful debut in May of his 2-year-old season over five furlongs at Chantilly, before beating the top-class Ramatuelle in his second start over at Saint-Cloud, this time over six furlongs.
He gained black type by winning the listed Prix Roland de Chambure that July and followed up with a first group success in the 2024 Prix la Rochette (G3). He was also third to Rosallion in the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere (G1) at Longchamp that autumn.
Beauvatier continued to race at the highest level at 3 and 4, gaining further group 1 placings in the Prix Maurice de Gheest (G1) and Prix de la Foret (G1) last year, as well as notching up two further group wins in the Prix de Ris-Orangis (G3) and Challenge Stakes. He will make his final start in the Hong Kong Mile (G1) in December before joining Haras d'Etreham.
Beauvatier was bred by a partnership that includes Ecurie des Monceaux and Qatar Bloodstock, being out of the stakes-placed Sea The Stars mare Enchanting Skies, a half sister to Preis von Europa (G1) scorer Empoli from the classic German family of Elle Danzig.
Haras d'Etreham's Nicolas de Chambure said: "Beauvatier's speed and precocity has always been impressive. His remarkable pedigree already made him an exciting stallion prospect when we bought into him at 2 years old, and he has met our expectations at every stage. He's the full package: powerful, consistent, with exceptional acceleration and the mindset of a true competitor.
"His racing career has taken us on a great adventure with our associates, and we are delighted to welcome him to Haras d'Etreham. A true 1400m horse, like Siyouni and Wootton Bassett, he has a very interesting profile for French breeders."
Barberot added: "He showcased his talent in the Challenge Stakes. I would like to thank Philippe Allaire, who supports me by purchasing horses of this caliber for me to train. He's allowed me to step up to a new level and I've great confidence the horse will be successful in his stallion career.
"He has precocity, speed, is incredibly consistent, and has never seen a vet. I'm very much looking forward to training his progeny."
Haras d'Etreham, LNJ Foxwoods, and Philippe Allaire will retain 50% of the ownership of Beauvatier, whom they will be strongly supporting with their respective broodmare bands. The remaining 50% will be syndicated.
Beauvatier's fee will be announced in the coming weeks.
