Super Corredora parlayed late-developing juvenile form into Eclipse Award recognition when she was named champion 2-year-old filly Jan. 22 during an Eclipse Awards ceremony at The Breakers Palm Beach in South Florida.

Beaten in a pair of sprints to begin her career, Super Corredora finished 2025 unbeaten in two routes—progression that proved decisive in Eclipse Award voting. An 8 1/4-length maiden winner over a two-turn mile Oct. 11 at Santa Anita Park, she would reach even greater heights less than three weeks later when she controlled the 1 1/16-mile Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) Oct. 31 at Del Mar from start to finish.

The Juvenile Fillies has long been a championship-defining race—37 of the 41 other winners also secured Eclipse Awards—and her 8-1 upset in the race, coupled with her earlier maiden romp, was enough for her to outpoll others, including finalists Explora and Cy Fair.

Explora, who won the 2025 Oak Leaf Stakes (G2) at Santa Anita in her top victory, finished second to Super Corredora in the Juvenile Fillies, while Cy Fair defeated males in taking the 5-furlong Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (G1T) on the same program.

Jockey Hector Berrios, aboard Super Corredora throughout her 2-year-old campaign, aggressively put his mount on the lead in the Juvenile Fillies, forcing others to chase her. Though Super Corredora needed to set a fast tempo with times of :22.42, :45.63, and 1:10.15, the pace proved sustainable. She fended off a bid from a stalking Explora in the stretch and finished ahead of her by three-quarters of a length. The John Sadler trainee was clocked in 1:43.71 on a fast track.

"I feel that she's very rhythmic—she's got a beautiful stride," the trainer said after the race.

Berrios consulted with Sadler before the race on tactics and agreed that the rider should try to dictate terms. The plan worked, and Berrios notched his first Breeders' Cup victory.

The victory in the $2 million Juvenile Fillies advanced Super Corredora's earnings to $1,093,600 with a record of 2-1-0 in four starts for owners West Point Thoroughbreds, Spartan Equine Racing, Robert Gardiner, and Michael Olszewski.

The Eclipse Award marks another championship for a horse co-owned by West Point Thoroughbreds and trained by Sadler. They previously reached the sport's heights several years ago with Flightline , the undefeated 2022 Horse of the Year whose championship campaign included victories in the Metropolitan Handicap (G1), Pacific Classic Stakes (G1), and Breeders' Cup Classic (G1).

Bred in Kentucky by Woodford Thoroughbreds, Super Corredora is a daughter of Gun Runner  out of the Super Saver mare Super Simple. She was a $400,000 purchase from the Denali Stud consignment to the 2024 Keeneland September Yearling Sale.

Super Corredora began her juvenile campaign during the Del Mar summer meet, finishing fifth in her debut sprint and improving to second in her subsequent outing. While those efforts did not produce a win, they laid the foundation of what was to come.

She was the leading money-earning 2-year-old filly in North America in 2025 and now stands as the Eclipse Award champion of her division.
