Mount Bona (Night of Thunder)—a winner of her past three starts for Paul Messara and Leah Gavranich—topped the Inglis Digital February (Early) Online Sale Feb. 4, when selling for AU$240,000 (US$167,956, AU$1=US$0.70) to Beaufort Bloodstock.
Messara, who is at Riverside this week managing Inglis Classic Yearling Sale inspections for Arrowfield, was delighted with the outcome.
"It's a really nice result,'' he said. "She's a lovely mare with a lot of upside, she's still got a lot of racing to come, and she's got a beautiful pedigree.
"I thought there was really good, strong-spirited bidding on her; it was nice to see a large group of people interested in her, and I wish the purchaser all the very best.''
The sale's second-top lot was the stakes-performed Chergui, a gelded son of Frosted , who sold to Jolly Time Syndicate for AU$95,000. Chergui was part of a seven-horse Godolphin draft, which grossed AU$256,750. The seven Godolphin offerings were sold to seven different individual buyers.
In total, the February (Early) Sale grossed AU$2,706,550 (US$1,894,084), continuing a strong start to 2026 for the online Thoroughbred sales platform.
Entries for the February (Late) Sale are now open and will remain so until Feb. 18. Already confirmed for the sale is Manolo Bling, a last-start listed place-getter who has already won four of her 15 starts and almost AU$450,000 in prize money.
The 4-year-old mare, who Rob Cummings and owners will offer as a racing and breeding prospect, is set to race again before the auction, at Eagle Farm Feb. 14.
The February (Late) Sale will run from Feb. 18-20.
