Three stakes—including a grade 2—worth a total of $400,000 highlight the Los Angeles County Fair meet at Los Alamitos Race Course. The nine-day season will begin June 19 and continue through July 5.
Racing will be conducted on a Friday-Sunday basis (June 19-21, 26-28, and July 3-5). Post time will be 1:00 p.m PT.
The richest event on the calendar is the $200,000 Great Lady M Stakes (G2) for fillies and mares at 6 1/2 furlongs. Won for a second consecutive year by Sweet Azteca, who eclipsed her own track record in 2025, the Great Lady M will be offered July 4.
The $100,000 Los Alamitos Derby, which was won by Nevada Beach in 2025, giving Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert his ninth consecutive victory in the race, will be run June 27. The Derby is for 3-year-olds at 1 1/8 miles.
Baffert has won the local derby 10 times.
Prior to Nevada Beach, he scored with Gimme Da Lute (2015), eventual 3-year-old champion West Coast (2017), Once On Whiskey (2018), Game Winner (2019), Uncle Chuck (2020), Classier (2021), High Connection (2022), Reincarnate (2023), and Wynstock (2024).
The other stakes on the schedule is the $100,000 Bertrando Stakes for 3-year-olds and up bred or sired in California. The 1-mile Bertrando will be run June 20.
There will also be a handicapping contest June 27, and the Los Alamitos Racing Association will offer a cash prize and two berths in the 2027 National Thoroughbred Handicapping Championship in Las Vegas.
