In-foal mare La Mexicana (I Am Invincible) became the highest-priced horse sold through the Inglis Digital platform this year when she realized AU$920,000 (US$645,849, AU$1=US$0.70) in the Inglis Digital Australia June (Early) Online Sale.
Offered by Peter O'Brien Bloodstock on behalf of the Surace family, the young mare was secured by a partnership between Blue Gum Farm and Suman Hedge Bloodstock.
The result marked a successful start for Peter O'Brien's new bloodstock venture following his departure from Segenhoe Stud.
"That is an outstanding result, incredible," O'Brien said. "The mare is very special to me; her first three foals are all outstanding and being offered in foal to a champion stallion in Too Darn Hot made her a very attractive package."
Hedge said the mare ticked every commercial box.
"She's in foal to one of the most exciting young stallions in Too Darn Hot and has a very bright future ahead of her. We were very keen to secure her and are thrilled we were able to do so," he said.
The sale's second-top lot was stakes-winning mare Pacific Dragon, who sold for AU$255,000 to Guy Mulcaster Bloodstock. Offered in foal to Maurice, she is set to visit Newgate Farm's first-season sire Wodeton this spring.
Meanwhile, 3-year-old Defendant (Justify ) sold for AU$200,000 to Hong Kong-based Pure Bloodstock and will head to Hong Kong in August with the 4-year-old series a likely target.
The June (Early) Sale grossed AU$3,915,100 (US$2,748,369) and continued Inglis Digital's strong run of results, with 182 lots selling for AU$100,000 or more since the beginning of 2025.
