Woodbine Entertainment, the HBPA and entire Woodbine racing community is set to honour legendary Hall of Fame trainer Roger Attfield during Sunday's Woodbine Oaks Day.

Attfield announced his retirement from training earlier this year, retiring as one of the most decorated trainers in the sport, including induction as a member of the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame in 1999 and the U.S. National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in 2012.

Forever woven into the fabric of Woodbine, Attfield trained a record-tying eight Queen's Plate winners (Norcliffe, Market Control, With Approval, Izvestia, Alydeed, Peteski, Regal Discovery, Not Bourbon), three Woodbine Oaks winners (Playlist, Plenty of Sugar, Capdiva) and was named Sovereign Award winner as Canada's Outstanding Trainer eight-times. He finished his career with 137 graded stakes wins, including a Breeders' Cup victory in 2011 Filly & Mare Turf with Perfect Shirl.

To celebrate Attfield's legendary career, a special on-track presentation will take place following Sunday's second-race. Attfield and his guests will be joined for the presentation by representatives from Woodbine, the HBPA and racing community. The presentation will include a special video package and words from Attfield.

Post time for Sunday's Woodbine Oaks card is 1 p.m.
