South Australian breeding operation Cornerstone Stud will conduct a complete dispersal of its bloodstock through the Inglis Digital August (Early) Sale, which runs Aug. 7-12.
The offering will comprise Cornerstone's entire commercial breeding portfolio, including broodmares, weanlings, young stock, racehorses, and breeding interests.
John Frankhuisen acquired Cornerstone Stud in 2017 and subsequently transformed the business from a traditional stallion operation into a commercially focused broodmare enterprise.
The portfolio has been developed around proven female families, disciplined broodmare selection and commercially oriented matings, with the operation producing bloodstock for the Australian and international markets.
Its recent graduates include this season's Gimcrack Stakes (G3) winner Shiki (Too Darn Hot). Cornerstone Stud general manager Sam Pritchard-Gordon said the dispersal would mark the conclusion of an important chapter for the operation.
"The decision to conclude the breeding operation has not been taken lightly," Pritchard-Gordon said. "However, by conducting a complete dispersal through Inglis Digital, buyers will have a genuine opportunity to access the quality bloodstock that Cornerstone Stud has assembled over the past three years."
Cornerstone has implemented a structured transition program to coordinate the dispersal and manage the process for clients, prospective purchasers, and other industry stakeholders.
Frankhuisen said he was proud of the operation's development and the horses it had produced during his ownership.
"Cornerstone Stud has been an incredibly enjoyable and rewarding part of my life," he said. "I'm immensely proud of what we've built, the people I've had the privilege to work alongside and the horses we've bred. While it's time to close this chapter, I sincerely hope the mares and young stock go on to enjoy continued success for their new owners."
Prospective buyers will be able to inspect the stock by arrangement with Pritchard-Gordon, while bidding will take place through Inglis Digital.
