Sahlan, winner of last year's Prix du Moulin (G1), has retired from racing and will stand at Haras de Bouquetot in Normandy for 2027.
The Al Shaqab Racing homebred is a son of the late Wootton Bassett and produced a career-best performance when denying multiple group 1 scorer Rosallion in the ParisLongchamp Racecourse contest last September.
Trained by Francis-Henri Graffard, Sahlan also defeated classic winners Henri Matisse and Marhaba Ya Sanafi, 2025 Lockinge Stakes (G1) scorer Lead Artist, and group 1 performers The Lion In Winter and Alcantor that day.
Sahlan recorded the fastest time in the race for 25 years, having already broken the race record when winning the Prix Daphnis (G3) at Deauville Racecourse on his previous start.
He ran out a 4-length winner on his sole start at 2 and returned last year to progress up the ranks, culminating in group 1 victory.
Graffard said: "Sahlan has always shown plenty of quality, but what really sets him apart is his decisive turn of foot, whatever the pace of the race.
"He showed it at Deauville when breaking the race record in the Prix Daphnis, and again in the Prix du Moulin, where he beat top-class milers in what was then the fastest time in the race for 25 years. He's an exemplary horse with a great temperament, combining a sharp turn of foot with the speed of a top-class miler."
Sahlan is out of the stakes-winning Toronado mare Wasmya and he hails from the family of Homecoming Queen, Dylan Thomas, and Queen's Logic.
A fee will be announced at a later date.
