Champion on the track and accomplished as a stallion, Blame reached a career milestone Aug. 31 when Crazy Frazy became his 50th stakes winner with a score in the $201,000 Sapling Stakes at Monmouth Park.
Bred in Kentucky by Charles Fipke, Crazy Frazy is out of the winning Medaglia d'Oro mare D'oro Paradise. Crazy Frazy rebounded off a fourth in the Aug. 3 Tyro Stakes to earn the listed stakes victory by a head for jockey Carlos Rojas. Crazy Frazy races in the silks of Lea Farms and is trained by Jorge Delgado.
On the racetrack, Blame was among the best of his generation. He ended the win streak of Hall of Fame mare Zenyatta in winning the 2010 Breeders' Cup Classic (G1), and also counted victories in the Stephen Foster (G1) and Whitney (G1) among his six graded stakes triumphs. He was named champion older horse in 2010.
After earning more than $4.3 million racing for Claiborne Farm and Adele Dilschneider, Blame continued his legacy in the breeding shed at Claiborne. Among his top performers are grade 1-winning millionaires Wet Paint, winner of the 2023 Coaching Club American Oaks (G1), Marley's Freedom, winner of the 2018 Ballerina Stakes (G1), and Nadal, an undefeated winner of the 2020 Arkansas Derby (G1). Blame also sired grade 1/group 1 winners Senga, Fault, and Abscond.
Blame stood the 2024 season at Claiborne for $25,000.
