Horse Racing Radio Network (HRRN), the award-winning broadcast organization based in Lexington, announced today it will celebrate the achievements of Hall of Fame mare Princess Rooney leading up to Friday's opening day of the Keeneland Fall Meet.

'Princess Rooney Week' presented by Keeneland Sales begins Monday, September 30 through Saturday, October 5. Throughout the week, HRRN will pay tribute to the brilliant Keeneland sales graduate across their full platform of shows, as well as on the network's social media pages, website and e-newsletters. Listeners will enjoy replays of her biggest wins along with interviews and conversations looking back on his racing career.

All HRRN shows can be heard throughout North America on Sirius 162/XM 207 with live streaming and podcasts of all shows are made available on the network's website, www.horseracingradio.net, and multiple podcast platforms including Apple Podcasts and PodBean. A full schedule of all HRRN shows and additional affiliate information can be found on the HRRN site.

Foaled on March 22, 1980, at Parrish Hill Farm in Kentucky, Princess Rooney recorded 17 wins from 21 lifetime starts including five Grade 1 victories with $1.343,399 in purse earnings. Originally trained by Frank Gomez for owners Jim and Paula Tucker, she was transferred to the barn of Hall of Fame trainer Neil Drysdale in the spring of 1984. She concluded her career at the end of that year with consecutive wins in Keeneland's Grade 1 Spinster before capturing the inaugural running of the Breeders' Cup Distaff at Hollywood Park. She would be voted that year's Eclipse Champion Older Mare and would be inducted into horse racing's Hall of Fame in 1991. Following her racing career, Princess Rooney was purchased in foal to Danzig by George Aubin at the 1985 Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale for $5.5 million from the Stone Farm consignment. At the time, the third highest price ever paid for a broodmare.
