Rockridge Stud's Americanrevolution , a grade 1-winning winning son of Constitution , sired his first reported foal, when a colt out of Tiz a Belle was born Jan. 19 at Northview Stallion Station near Warwick, Md.
Valencia Leach bred the colt, who is the fourth foal of the unraced daughter of Tiznow. Tiz a Belle is a half sister to grade 3 winner Essential Wager and out of grade 3-placed winner Mr Hall's Opus (Officer), who has produced three winners from three to race.
Trained by Todd Pletcher and campaigned by China Horse Club and WinStar Farm, Americanrevolution won the Cigar Mile Handicap (G1) at 3, and finished second in the Stephen Foster Stakes (G2) and the Jockey Club Gold Cup Stakes (G1) at 4. He was named New York-bred champion 3-year-old male and the state's Horse of The Year for 2021. He retired in 2023, with a record of 5-2-1 from 12 starts, and $1,286,810 in earnings.
Americanrevolution was bred in New York by Fred W. Hertrich lll & John D. Fielding, and sold as a yearling for $275,000 at Fasig-Tipton's New York-Bred Yearlings Sale to China Horse Club and Maverick Racing.
The 7-year-old son of Constitution stands at Rockridge Stud near Hudson, N.Y., for $12,500 this year. He stands for a partnership that includes WinStar Farm, China Horse Club, Taylor Made Stallions, Fortune Farm, and Mill Creek Farm.
