Too Much Kiki has been crowned Texas champion 3-year-old filly and the Lone Star State's Horse of the Year for her on-track heroics in 2024.

Trained by Bret Calhoun and owned by Landon Jordan's Mansfield Racing, the daughter of seven-time leading Texas sire Too Much Bling finished the year with three wins, all non-black-type stakes victories, in seven starts. She opened 2024 with a 3 1/2-length victory in the Darby's Daughter Division of the Texas Stallion Stakes at Sam Houston Race Park. Too Much Kiki then won the Bara Lass Stakes and the Two Altazano Stakes, both at six furlongs, by a combined 13 1/2 lengths.

She also placed in three black-type stakes, including a clear second in the Texas Thoroughbred Association Oaks at Sam Houston, finishing behind the impressive Miss Code West after stalking the winner throughout. She ran second as well in the Bluebonnet Stakes and was third in the Danny Shifflett Scholarship Stakes. During her 2024 campaign, Too Much Kiki earned more than $178,000, raising her career earnings to nearly $258,000.

Too Much Kiki topped the 2022 Texas Summer Yearling Sale when she sold for $100,000 from the Highlander Training Center consignment. She is out of the Action This Day winner Soft Music, who also produced the 2016 champion Texas 2-year-old filly Bling On the Music (Too Much Bling) and her full brother stakes-placed Lullaby Bling. Soft Music has been named the 2024 Texas Broodmare of the Year. The breeder of the Year is Danele Durham, who owns Soft Music.

The leading accredited Texas-bred money-earner for 2024 was Equestris, of which W.S. Farish is president and CEO.

The winners of the Allen Bogan Memorial Award for TTA Member of the Year and the T. I. "Pops" Harkins Award for Lifetime Achievement will be announced at a later date.
