Fairmount Park Casino and Racing is thrilled to announce a special community event in partnership with Children's Miracle Network Hospitals of Greater St. Louis (CMN). On Saturday, October 18, the venue will host its first-ever "Miracle Family Day," a family-friendly event aimed at raising funds and awareness for local children's hospitals, including St. Louis Children's Hospital and SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital.
"We're honored to be able to host this event and support such an important cause," said Vince Gabbert, General Manager of Fairmount Park Casino and Racing. "As a community-driven venue, we believe in giving back, especially when it helps improve the lives of kids and families right here in our region. This is a perfect opportunity for people to come out and support an incredible cause, while also enjoying a great day of racing here at the track."
The event will begin with post time at 2:30 p.m., featuring a full afternoon of live horse racing and fun activities for all ages. There will be seven special races, each honoring a CMN "Miracle Child" currently receiving care at a local hospital. These children and their families will be welcomed as special guests, enjoying an unforgettable experience that includes a trip to the paddock to meet the horses and a photo opportunity in the winner's circle.
"This day is all about celebrating our Miracle Kids and the incredible work of our partner hospitals," said Lynsey Skinner, director of corporate relations with Children's Miracle Network Hospitals of Greater St. Louis. "Thanks to Fairmount Park, we're bringing families, fans, and the community together in a powerful way, all while raising funds to support local pediatric care. We couldn't be more excited to saddle up for a day at the races and invite the community to bet on the future of our children."
The goal of the event is to raise $10,000, which will help provide local member hospitals with specialty pediatric equipment, support research and treatment advancements, and enable continued access to free or reduced-cost care for children in need.
Those who are unable to attend the event but would still like to support the cause can donate online by visiting their website.
