Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races put a bow on its 2025 racing season on Saturday, December 13th and handed out the hardware to the year's leading connections.
For the eighth consecutive year, Arnaldo Bocachica topped the jockey standings at Charles Town in both wins and earnings. Winning at a 33% rate in 2025, Bocachica's 196 winners from 598 starts allowed him to bank $3,923,659 in earnings this year. J. D. Acosta's 64 victories were enough to claim the runner-up spot on the list with Denis Araujo, Victor Rodriguez, and Angel Cruz rounding out the top five.
Trainer Anthony Farrior won his fourth consecutive trainer's title, claiming the top spot with 130 wins, 16 more than runner-up Ronney Brown. Jeff Runco's 99 wins were good for third in the standings, followed by Javier Contreras and Kevin Joy. Farrior took the earnings title with a total of $2,390,071, edging Runco by just under $80,000.
The year's top owners by wins were Nicole and Ronney Brown, finishing with 54, followed by Richard Burnsworth's 47 victories. Casey's Legacy LLC checked in third, followed by David Raim, and Grams Racing LLC. Casey's Legacy LLC took the earnings title, raking in $1,031,038.
"The 2025 season at Charles Town was one of our strongest yet, highlighted by outstanding performances from our leading jockeys, trainers, and owners who consistently delivered exciting racing and elevated the quality of our product," said Charles Town's Director of Racing Operations Charlie McIntosh. "With continued support from our horsemen, horseplayers, and the West Virginia racing community, we're incredibly optimistic about 2026 and can't wait to kick things off in the new year with even more great racing action ahead."
Racing is set to resume on Friday, January 2nd. That card will be the first of 165 live days scheduled at Charles Town for 2026. The track's two graded stakes -- the Charles Town Classic (GII) and Charles Town Oaks (GII) -- are scheduled for August 28th, pending finalization and approval of the stakes schedule by the West Virginia Racing Commission. State-breds will take center stage on October 10th as Charles Town will host the 40th renewal of the West Virginia Breeders Classics.
