Racing with a Purpose - Commitment to Horse Welfare
Beyond competition, this Event is driven by a meaningful purpose: raising awareness and taking action in support of Thoroughbred aftercare. This initiative recognizes that a racehorse's value does not end at the finish line, but extends throughout its entire life.
Three percent (3%) of all on-track bets generated during the event will be donated to TAA-accredited Aftercare Programs, directly supporting the retraining, rehabilitation, and dignified retirement of Thoroughbred racehorses once their racing careers conclude.
By integrating aftercare into the heart of this historic racing celebration, the event seeks to motivate owners, fans, and the broader racing community to actively participate in ensuring lifelong care for these equine athletes. Aftercare is a fundamental pillar for the sustainability, integrity, and future of horse racing.
María Mari, Vice President of Special Projects, emphasized the importance of this initiative:
"As stewards of this sport, we have a responsibility to ensure that every horse is cared for with dignity throughout their lives. Supporting TAA-accredited aftercare programs reflects our deep commitment to the welfare of these incredible athletes -- not just on the track, but long after their racing days are over. Our goal is to make aftercare a shared motivation and responsibility across the entire racing community."
