The Racehorse Owners Association has launched a new membership designed for people involved in syndicates and racing clubs as part of the aim to improve engagement and representation across all ownership types.
Associate membership is targeted at syndicate and racing club members who are actively involved in ownership but might not be centrally registered or formally recognized as owners.
It offers access to the benefits of ROA membership and its community, including the ROA racecourse badge scheme, which allows entry to up to seven racedays per year across more than 1,000 fixtures in Britain.
ROA chief executive Louise Norman said: "Syndicates and racing clubs play an increasingly important role in British racing and are often the first step into ownership for many people.
"The ROA associate membership tier has been created to recognize and support those owners, helping them feel connected, informed, and valued within the sport.
"This new membership tier complements our existing offers and reflects the ROA's commitment to broadening access, strengthening representation, and supporting a sustainable future for racehorse ownership."
Caroline Davies, the Racecourse Association's racecourse services director, said: "The RCA and racecourses have worked closely with the ROA to develop the associate membership tier and supporting badge scheme.
"We recognize the growth in shared ownership and the importance this has to the sport's overall health and believe this new membership tier offers both an incentive to continue to experience with British horse racing and acknowledgement of the investment already undertaken by this valued stakeholder."
The annual cost of the membership starts from £118.80 per person and further information is available at roa.co.uk/associate.
