Four-time grade 1 winner and $2.6 million earner Casa Creed was represented by his first foal Jan. 23, a filly bred by Carlos Cleto out of the black type-placed mare Sustainable.
"You can see from this photo an outstanding foal," Cleto said. "Casa Creed was an 'iron horse' who won four grade 1s and showed up every race. A very exciting stallion."
Casa Creed stands at Mill Ridge Farm near Lexington for an advertised fee of $8,500 and is part of the Ride Together Incentive Program, where the registered breeder of a live foal earns a free season if the offspring wins a straight maiden race as a 2-or 3-year-old.
The son of Jimmy Creed raced from 2 to 8, posting a 9-5-6 record from 36 career starts, earning $2,691,308. Under the tutelage of Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott, Casa Creed won his first graded stakes, the 2019 National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame Stakes (G2T), in his 11th start. He continued to age like a fine wine, competing in the Breeders' Cup World Championships each of the next four years, with his best finish coming in the 2023 Breeders' Cup Mile (G1T), where he was third.
Also in 2023, Casa Creed won the last of his four grade 1s—the Fourstardave Handicap (G1T), his second consecutive triumph in that race at Saratoga Race Course. He also won the Jaipur Stakes (G1T) twice in 2021-22.
