With the usual approach of welcoming a massive crowd for the Preakness Stakes (G1) not an option for this year as the event moves to Laurel Park while Pimlico Race Course is reconstructed, 1/ST Racing will market this year's race as an exclusive event when seats go on sale Feb. 25.
Daily Racing Form first reported Feb. 24 that tickets will be limited to 4,800 for this year's race and they'll be sold as a two-day event for Black-Eyed Susan Stakes day May 15 and Preakness day May 16. Tickets will range in price from $246 for general admission up to $1,698 for seating in Turfside Terrace.

In statements initially sent to DRF and then forwarded to BloodHorse, 1/ST said there will be 1,000 individual general admission tickets available for Preakness 151 weekend. As the infield is not available at Laurel, hospitality options will include temporary facilities along the rail from the finish line to the final turn offering VIP experiences, curated food and beverage, and premium track views.
1/ST noted that horsemen and women participating on Black-Eyed Susan Day or Preakness day will be accommodated at Laurel Park in much the same way as they are at Pimlico Race Course.
