Tattersalls Online and the Emirates Racing Authority have launched a second online horses-in-training auction to be held from March 26-April 1.
The online sale will feature 195 lots and will be held as an alternative to the live end-of-season auction, which would normally take place around the Dubai World Cup meeting.
Hosted on the Tattersalls Online platform, the auction will offer a catalog of 172 UAE-based Thoroughbreds. The first 101 lots will close from 10 a.m. March 31, and the remaining lots are scheduled to close from 10 a.m. April 1. Buyers worldwide will bid remotely under ERA conditions.
Bhupat Seemar will consign 20 lots, headlined by Dubai World Cup (G1) entry Imperial Emperor. The son of Dubawi races in the colors of the Deva Racing Syndicate and holds an impressive record, landing the Al Maktoum Mile (G2) in December and following up with success in the Al Maktoum Challenge (G1), a performance that secured his place in the Dubai World Cup on Saturday.
Deva Racing bought the son of Dubawi for $300,000 in 2024 through the Emirates Racing Authority Horses of Racing Age Sale from his breeder, Godolphin. He is out of the Fastnet Rock mare Zhukova, who won the 2017 Man o'War Stakes (G1T) at Belmont Park, where she defeated multiple graded stakes winner Sadler's Joy. Godolphin purchased the mare for $5.2 million at the 2017 Tattersalls December Mares Sale.
The largest consignment comes from the stables of Salem Bin Ghadayer, numbering 27 lots, of which 21 will be offered on behalf of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum. A total of 21 lots will be offered on behalf of Godolphin from the drafts of Charlie Appleby and Saeed bin Suroor, while Michael Costa consigns 13 lots on behalf of Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Tattersalls Online sales manager Katherine Sheridan said: "We're delighted to strengthen our partnership with the Emirates Racing Authority for this second online sale, building on the success of our landmark collaboration in November. Last year's inaugural event proved how effectively our platform connects buyers and sellers around the world. This collaboration underscores Tattersalls Online's innovative role in modern bloodstock trading while making UAE racing talent accessible to the global market."
Those interested in taking part in the auction must receive pre-sale approval to bid from the Emirates Racing Authority.
