Hong Kong-based Ka Ying Rising, a winner of 19 consecutive races, remains atop the latest Longines World's Best Racehorse Rankings released April 9.

Maintaining a 128 rating, Ka Ying Rising holds a four-point advantage over fellow Hong Kong standout, Romantic Warrior, in second place. Forever Young, winner of the Saudi Cup (G1) in February, is the leading dirt performer and sits third at 123, one point ahead of three horses tied for fourth, among them the American horse Magnitude, who upset Forever Young in the March 28 Dubai World Cup (G1).

Winchell Thoroughbreds' Magnitude, who had kicked off his 2026 campaign with a victory in the Feb. 28 Razorback Handicap (G3) at Oaklawn Park, raised his rating from 117 by defeating Forever Young. The Steve Asmussen-trained 4-year-old son of Not This Time  is now 7-for-13 with earnings of $8,544,365.

Croix Du Nord and Royal Champion are the others tied for fourth.

Other American horses ranked among the top 20 in the world include Nysos (121, tied for seventh), Knightsbridge (119, tied for 13th), and Skippylongstocking (118, tied for 18th).

The ratings cover performances from Jan. 1 through April 5. Horses unraced in 2026, such as reigning North American Horse of the Year Sovereignty, have not yet generated ratings.

The rankings are compiled by the Longine's World's Best Racehorse Rankings Committee and published by the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities.  The full ratings can be found online.
