Near the end of the final session of the Ocala Breeders' Sales 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale, Jacob West secured a fast filly by Girvin  for $1.6 million, on behalf of Robert and Lawana Low.

Hip 1221, consigned by Top Line Sales, agent, breezed a co-fastest furlong in :09 3/5 during the under-tack preview.

"She breezed incredibly well," West said. "She looked very fast, worked very fast, she vetted, and the end result was $1.6 million.

"She was bought from a consignment that is known for breezing fast horses that go on to win."

West said she will head to the barn of Hall of Fame trainer Todd Pletcher.

The Lows, in partnership with Repole Stable, campaign their homebred Arkansas Derby (G1) winner and Kentucky Derby (G1) hopeful Renegade. He currently sits third on the Kentucky Derby leaderboard with 125 points.

"(Girvin) is pretty good with his fillies, and she's out of a young Curlin mare, and a deep Stuart Janney family."

West said the market this week remained fiercely competitive.

"All that needs to be said about the market was there was a $10.5 million horse," West said. "We haven't seen that in a long time. The strength is within the owners and the money that they're putting through, and it's very good right now. We're excited about how everything's going.

"(The consignors) work hard down there, and they deserve to get rewarded when they do well."

Hip 1221 was bred in Kentucky by Jim and Donna Daniell. She is the second foal of the Curlin  mare Soma, who is a half sister to graded stakes winner Celestial City. The first foal, Miss Donna, by Rushie, broke her maiden in her fourth start, a victory as the 6-5 favorite Jan. 23 at Santa Anita Park. Hip 1221 hails from the family of Hymn Book, who won the 2012 Donn Handicap (G1) and finished second in the 2011 Cigar Mile Handicap (G1).

The filly was purchased by CMT Rentals for $165,000 at the 2025 Keeneland September Yearling Sale.

"Torie (Gladwell), my Dad, and Carlo (Vaccarezza) had to have her at the Keeneland sale," said Jimbo Gladwell of Top Line Sales. "She's just done better every day we've had her. She showed up here in a big way, and she brought the house down at the end.

"We're very happy. We wish Jacob West and the Lows the best of luck."

Top Line Sales finished the sale as the third-leading consignor, selling 30 from its draft for a total of $6,575,000. During the opening session, it sold a Curlin colt for $850,000 to Spendthrift Farm and Delta Squad Racing.
