ESPN Louisville Plans Six Days of Derby Coverage

The station will broadcast 30 hours of this year's Kentucky Derby (G1).

ESPN Louisville will once again offer six days of Kentucky Derby coverage over its airwaves, as the station will broadcast at least 30 hours of live shows from Churchill Downs during Kentucky Derby 152 week.

Host Drew Deener anchors The Deener Show, which airs from 7am-10am Monday through Thursday of Derby Week.  The show is broadcast from the backside of Churchill Downs.  Deener welcomes guests from all around horse racing, from trainers, to owners, to jockeys, to analysts.  Mark Blankenbaker will once again be Deener's co-host for the week.

Louie Rabaut hosts Rabaut & Co., which airs 10am-noon ET Monday through Thursday.  The first three shows will be broadcast from the backside; the show moves to Section 322 for the remainder of the weekend.  This year, Rabaut will be joined by Florida-based handicapper Barry Spears, Rabaut's partner on the Horse Racing Happy Hour platform.

On Kentucky Oaks Day, Rabaut and Spears will go live from 10am-2pm ET.

Kentucky Derby Day coverage with Rabaut and Spears will air live 11am-2pm ET.

All shows can be heard on ESPN 680AM and 105.7FM.  Shows can be streamed anywhere on iHeart Radio, on the ESPN Louisville app, and at espnlouisville.com.

Deener is a mainstay on the backside of Churchill Downs, having worked previously with the late Bill Reid and Clint Glasscock.  His current co-host, Mark Blankenbaker, has covered the Derby since 2016.

Rabaut has covered the Kentucky Derby since 2018.  In addition to his work at ESPN Louisville, he hosts BloodHorse Monday, a weekly podcast in partnership with BloodHorse.  He also hosts Horse Racing Happy Hour, and The Kentucky Racing Spotlight with Louie Rabaut.

Rabaut and Spears will offer a Derby Handicapping Seminar at Blind Squirrel Restaurant on Tuesday, April 28 at 7pm ET.  There is no cost to attend.  The seminar will air on all BloodHorse social media channels.
