Back-to-back Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint (G1) winner Groupie Doll has been retired from broodmare duties at Whisper Hill Farm, according to the farm's Facebook page.

Known for her speed and heart, Groupie Doll won 12 of her 23 career starts, amassing earnings of $2,648,850 under the tutelage of trainer William "Buff" Bradley, and was named Eclipse Award champion female sprinter in 2012-13. She contested the Cigar Mile Handicap (G1) against males twice in 2012-13, with her best effort coming in 2012 when she finished a nose behind multiple grade 1 winner Stay Thirsty .

Following her second Breeders' Cup win, Groupie Doll was purchased by Mandy Pope's Whisper Hill Farm for $3.1 million at the 2013 Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale. She made two starts for Pope, going out on a high note with a victory in the 2014 Hurricane Bertie Stakes (G3) at Gulfstream Park.

Groupie Doll's level of talent on the racetrack has not transferred yet to her offspring. From six foals to race, she produced four winners, but no stakes winners to date. Her first foal, Tapability, a gelding by Tapit , broke his maiden by 9 lengths at Gulfstream. She was barren in 2021-22, and her last foal came in 2024, a filly by Jackie's Warrior , who is unraced.

In 2015, Ellis Park renamed the Gardenia Stakes in Groupie Doll's honor, and the 1-mile race is now known as the Groupie Doll Stakes. She won the Gardenia Stakes (G3) in 2011.

Groupie Doll has appeared on the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame ballot the past two years, but has not been voted in.
