Horse Racing Radio Network (HRRN), the award-winning broadcast organization based in Lexington, KY, announced today that industry veteran Angela Hermann will join the network's flagship show, the Equine Forum, working alongside HRRN President Mike Penna as co-host of the popular Saturday morning show. The Equine Forum, now in its 23rd year, is HRRN's longest-running show.
Hermann, a longtime analyst at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, Minnesota, took an interest in horses in 1998 stemming from her love of riding as a child. Her work in racing spans from Florida to California over the past 16 years, including a stint as race caller at Golden Gate Fields in 2016, a role in which she became the second female in the United States to accept a full-time race-caller position.
"Angela is the consummate professional," said Penna. "Her knowledge of the sport, tireless preparation and enthusiastic personality make her the perfect fit. I am excited to work with her and equally excited for our listeners who will get to enjoy her unique insights every Saturday."
"My time at Horse Racing Radio Network has been a great experience from day one. Getting to work with this team teaches me something new every day, and the opportunity to reach an audience as passionate about horse racing as I am is a blessing. Each Saturday morning is going to be a different puzzle to discuss and solve, and I hope everyone enjoys breaking it down along with us."
Each week Penna and Hermann welcome leading owners, trainers, jockeys, breeders, handicappers and industry professionals to discuss racing's most significant storylines.
The Equine Forum is HRRN's longest-running show, airing nationwide every Saturday morning from 8-11 a.m. Eastern on Sirius 162/XM 207 with live streaming and podcasts of each show made available on the HRRN website, www.horseracingradio.net. In addition, listeners throughout Kentucky can tune in on 96.1 FM in Lexington and ESPN 680 in Louisville.
