Spendthrift Farm's second-crop sire Known Agenda  sired his first black-type winner June 15 when his son Squad Goals captured the Tom Ridge Stakes by 1 1/2 lengths at Presque Isle Downs.

Squad Goals, a 3-year-old gelding, is owned and trained by Adam Rice. The Tom Ridge was the gelding's first start of the year and his second start in a black-type stakes, following a juvenile season that produced a win, a second, and a fourth in the Awad Stakes on the turf at Aqueduct Racetrack from three starts.

In the 6-furlong Tom Ridge on Presque Isle's all-weather main track, Squad Goals got a patient, ground-saving ride from jockey Gaddiel Martinez, who watched the pacesetters blaze opening fractions of :21.57 and :44.79. Squad Goals then took command along the rail leaving the turn and drew away for the win. The final time was 1:09.96.

Gail Rice's Magic Oaks Farm bred Squad Goals in Kentucky out of the Medaglia d'Oro daughter My Aim Is True, who is out of grade 1-placed stakes winner Joint Return (Include). Adam Rice bought My Aim Is True for $60,000 during the 2022 Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale from Warrendale Sales as agent for Spendthrift Farm. Squad Goals is the mare's first starter. She has a yearling filly by Jack Christopher  and produced a filly this year by Tiz the Law

Known Agenda is an 8-year-old son of Curlin  out of grade 1 winner Byrama. He placed in the 2020 Remsen Stakes (G2) at 2 and at 3 won the Florida Derby (G1) and ran fourth in Belmont Stakes (G1). He retired with a 3-1-1 record from eight starts and earned $641,700.

Known Agenda stands for $5,000.
