Sarayu broke her maiden June 20 at Woodbine to become Ballycroy Bloodstock freshman sire Collusion Illusion 's first winner.

In the maiden optional claiming test, the 2-year-old filly Sarayu settled off the pace under jockey Sofia Vives. The James Begg trainee began to pick up ground on the turn and came into the stretch six paths wide under a drive to collar her competition. She scored by 3 lengths and covered the 4 1/2 furlongs on the all-weather in a final time of :52.89.

Sarayu, who earned her maiden victory in her first career start, is a homebred for owner Dan Agnew. She is the first foal out of the unraced Street Sense  dam Law Abidin Annie.

Collusion Illusion stands for CA$4,000 at Ballycroy Bloodstock near Loretto, Ontario. The son of Twirling Candy  won five of 13 starts, including the 2020 Bing Crosby Stakes (G1) and Lazaro Barrera Stakes (G3) at 3, and the 2019 Best Pal Stakes (G2) at 2.

He was trained primarily by Mark Glatt, who purchased the Florida-bred for $300,000 at the 2019 Ocala Breeders' Sales Spring 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale out of the Mayberry Farm consignment. He made his final career start for trainer Greg Tracy.

Collusion Illusion is the only foal of the unraced First Dude mare Natalie Grace. His first crop of runners consists of just eight foals.
