FanDuel TV will return to Del Mar with on-site coverage as the meet begins with its always festive Opening Day on Friday, July 17 and for the duration of the summer season which will conclude on Labor Day, September 7.
The live coverage will include expert handicapping and interviews from FanDuel TV hosts and analysts daily throughout the premier summer meet. Christina Blacker, Michael Joyce, Simon Bray, Caleb Keller, Joaquin Jaime, Dave Weaver, Scott Hazelton and Dubbs Anderson will be live at the track throughout the season with analysis and interviews. Post time each day is typically 5:00 p.m. ET/2:00 p.m. PT.
(Editor's Note: Amid a phase-out of their television programming, FanDuel began reducing in-studio production and on-air host coverage this summer. Andrew Moore, general manager of racing for FanDuel, told Paulick Report in late March that FanDuel would have hosts and analysts on-site to cover Del Mar's summer and fall meets, Keeneland's fall meet, and the Breeders' Cup, in fulfillment of its contractual obligations. He said production from these events would remain consistent with previous years.)
"The Del Mar summer meet is always one of the highlights of the racing calendar and we look forward to bringing the excitement of Del Mar to racing fans across the country from Opening Day until the conclusion of the meet," said Becky Somerville, senior director of racing production for FanDuel TV.
The summer meet will feature 37 stakes races including the $1 million Pacific Classic (GI), a Breeders' Cup "Win and You're In" Challenge race scheduled for August 22. The Pacific Classic is one of six Breeders' Cup qualifying races to be held at Del Mar alongside the Bing Crosby Stakes (GI) on July 25, the Clement L. Hirsch Stakes (GI) on August 1, the Green Flash Handicap (GIII) on August 22, the Pat O'Brien Handicap (GII) on August 29 and the Del Mar Handicap (GII) on August 29.
The Breeders' Cup will be held October 30-31 at Keeneland this year and FanDuel TV will have on-site live coverage throughout the event. In addition to the Breeders' Cup and Del Mar, FanDuel TV will offer in-depth live coverage from Keeneland's Fall Meet this year as well.
