Lady Of Camelot, the 2024 Golden Slipper Stakes (G1) winner, has been offered for private sale by Sir Owen Glenn's Go Bloodstock operation.
Offers for the 5-year-old mare will close at 5 p.m. local time Aug. 7, with the high-profile offering expected to attract significant domestic and international interest.
Trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, Lady Of Camelot defeated Coleman by a head in the Golden Slipper, with stablemate Storm Boy finishing third. The Written Tycoon daughter was subsequently crowned Australia's champion 2-year-old filly.
While she did not win again, she was placed in the 2024 Moir Stakes (G1) and Coolmore Stud Stakes (G1), as well as five other group races in addition to a fourth behind Bella Nipotina in the 2024 Everest (G1).
She was being prepared for the Doomben Ten Thousand (G1) earlier this year when she was stung by a stingray while partaking in shallow-water beach work in Brisbane. The injury ultimately prompted connections to retire her from racing.
Go Bloodstock described Lady Of Camelot as a rare opportunity to acquire a Golden Slipper winner from an internationally active female family producing group/grade 1 performers in both hemispheres. More Than Real, Lady Of Camelot's granddam, won the 2010 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G2T), while the extended female family includes this year's Kentucky Oaks (G1) winner Always a Runner, as well as 2019 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf (G1T) winner Structor.
