Thoroughbred Season at Remington Park opens Friday, Aug. 21, launching a 62-race date season that includes Oklahoma Derby Week festivities, Oklahoma Classics and the return of Extreme Holiday Showdown. The season closes on Dec. 19 with the Springboard Mile, a key race for 2-year-olds looking for points in the race to the gate in the 2027 Kentucky Derby.

Thoroughbred Season features major stakes races in the Grade 3, $400,000 Oklahoma Derby and the $300,000 Springboard Mile. Overall, the 30 stakes races are worth an estimated $3.7 million.

"Thoroughbred Season brings the best our industry has to offer - from competitive races featuring our sport's top human and equine athletes to fun, all-ages activities and events that raise money for community nonprofits," said Thomas Parker, General Manager for Remington Park. "We encourage everyone to come out, help support our community during our events and enjoy the thrill of seeing top trainers, jockeys and horses from across the nation contend for major prizes."

Oklahoma Derby Week - Sept. 21 through Sept. 27 Oklahoma Derby Week includes a variety of events that lead up to Oklahoma Derby Day on Sunday, Sept. 27. The Grade 3, $400,000 Oklahoma Derby attracts top Thoroughbreds from around the country and is likely to include some 3-year-olds that were on the Kentucky Derby trail earlier this year. Other Oklahoma Derby Week events include:

Riders Cup Charity Golf Tournament - Monday, Sept. 21 at 8:30 a.m.

This annual golf tournament takes place at Lincoln Park Golf Course and is the largest fundraiser of the year for Remington Cares Charities. Information about sponsorships and team registrations is available at RemingtonPark.com/riderscup.

Oklahoma Derby Hat & Bowtie Contest - Sunday, Sept. 27 from 4-6 p.m.

Racing fans don their finest derby attire and compete for cash prizes during the Oklahoma Derby Hat & Bowtie Contest. The contest takes place on Track Level-North and is free to enter. There's $3,600 in prize money to be awarded in four categories - most elegant, most creative, best bowtie and best couple.

Oklahoma Derby Day Wine Festival - Sunday, Sept. 27 from 3-7 p.m.

Oklahoma's finest wineries will be on hand for the Oklahoma Derby Day Wine Festival on Track Level-North. Admission price of $40 includes reserved access to the Wine Festival Garden, a commemorative wine cup, a charcuterie cup and lawn games that include shuffleboard, cornhole and golf pong. Participants must be at least 21 years old and present valid photo ID. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Remington Cares Charities.

Oklahoma Classics - Friday, Oct. 16

Oklahoma Classics on Friday, Oct. 16, is a night to celebrate the state's racing industry, with over $1 million in purses for races exclusively involving Oklahoma-bred Thoroughbreds.

Extreme Holiday Showdown - Saturday, Nov. 21

Holiday characters such as the Grinch, Buddy the Elf, Cousin Eddie and Santa Claus return to the track to compete between live Thoroughbred racing events. Races also include adoptable dogs and a jockey foot race. During the event, fans of all ages can enjoy holiday treats, visit booths from participating Remington Cares Charities and purchase holiday gifts at a Merry Market with local vendors. Entertainment and activities begin at 3 p.m., with Thoroughbred racing starting at 4 p.m. All are free and open to the public.

Racing during the 2026 Thoroughbred Season starts at 6:30 p.m., Thursdays through Saturdays. Beginning Oct. 14, racing on Wednesdays starts at 6:30 p.m. Special races during the season include the Oklahoma Derby, which begins at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 27, Oklahoma Classics which begins at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16, and the Springboard Mile, which begins at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 19.
