Keeneland announced Aug. 20 that two horses—a colt by Yaupon and a filly by Tapit —comprise the second round of supplements to Book 1 of the Keeneland September Yearling Sale Sept. 14-15. Click here for the September sale catalog.
Opening day of the September sale will include:
- Hip 184 is a colt by Yaupon out of Dame Iris, by Medaglia d'Oro. From the family of Irish highweight Bachelor Duke, grade 1 winner Talco, and grade/group 2 winners Spanish Mission and Asbury Park, he is consigned by Hunter Valley Farm, agent.
Supplemented to the second session is:
- Hip 377 is a filly by Tapit who is a half sister to champion and first-crop yearling sire Forte . Gainesway, agent, consigns the daughter of stakes winner Queen Caroline, by Blame .
With these supplements, a total of 4,642 horses have been cataloged for the September sale, which runs 12 sessions through Sept. 26.
These two most recent supplements follow the addition of five horses to the sale last week. Those five yearlings included sons of Into Mischief , Vekoma , and Yaupon, plus two colts from the final crop of Uncle Mo.

Last year's September sale was the world's highest-grossing Thoroughbred auction in history with more than $531.7 million in sales for 3,078 horses. The number of million-dollar horses (56), along with the average price ($172,755) and the median price ($80,000), all set records for the sale.
