The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) today announced the addition of three Wednesday cards to be conducted in October at the Belmont Park fall meet.
Following the cancellation of three previous days of live racing, NYRA, the New York Thoroughbred Horsemen's Association (NYTHA) and New York Thoroughbred Breeders, Inc. (NYTB) requested and have received formal approval from the New York State Gaming Commission to conduct live racing on October 14, October 21 and October 28.
Details regarding races on the added dates are available in the condition book located at https://www.nyra.com/belmont/horsemen/.
On September 18, NYRA launched the Belmont Big Apple Bonus, a new initiative created to reward owners and trainers for participating in the fall meet at the new Belmont Park. The Big Apple Bonus provides up to $8,500 in awards per horse shipping or relocating to Belmont Park from other racing jurisdictions. Owners and trainers currently based at NYRA are fully eligible for these bonuses, which complement the record overnight purses to be offered during the fall meet.
The Belmont Park fall meet features 32 graded events among 72 stakes races worth $17.7 million in total purses.
