The Kentucky Horse Park has announced that its next installment of the EquineEd series for Tuesday, Nov. 10, will feature Kentucky Derby (G1)-winning trainer Cherie DeVaux.
A Kentucky-based trainer, DeVaux in 2026 became the first woman to win the Kentucky Derby, taking the race with Golden Tempo, who added the Belmont Stakes (G1) five weeks later. She is also the first female trainer to win multiple grade 1 races on the same day.
This EquineEd event is sponsored by the Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation, hosted by the Kentucky Horse Park, and will be broadcast by The Plaidcast. The session will be co-hosted by KHP president Lee Carter and Dr. Piper Klemm, host of The Plaidcast.
The evening will include an in-depth interview with DeVaux, followed by a 15-minute audience Q&A session and an exclusive, limited hat-signing opportunity. Golden Tempo hats will be available for purchase at the event, with all proceeds benefiting the Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation.
"We are excited to welcome Cherie DeVaux to our next EquineEd, and thanks to Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation for their continued support," Carter said. "The Kentucky Horse Park EquineEd series is an avenue for us to share useful and unique information with the community, but also to celebrate great stories of success like Cherie and Golden Tempo."
"We are thrilled to welcome Cherie DeVaux to the Kentucky Horse Park for what promises to be a very special evening celebrating the horse and bringing our equestrian community together in support of equine health research," said Jamie Haydon, president of the Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation. "Cherie's remarkable journey with Golden Tempo has been an exciting story to follow, and we are incredibly grateful to her for sharing that experience with us. We are equally thankful to Golden Tempo's owners and our dedicated board members, Daisy Phipps of Phipps Stable and Vinnie Viola of St. Elias Stables, for inviting us to share in this incredible ride. Their passion for the horse and commitment to advancing equine health reflect the very heart of Grayson's mission.
"We look forward to an inspiring evening celebrating Golden Tempo, the people behind his success, and the research that helps protect the health and future of horses of every breed and discipline."
