Hark Theangelssing, a 3-year-old daughter of Mendelssohn, became her sire's 50th black-type stakes winner June 14, conquering the Stormy Blues Stakes at Laurel Park.
Stalking the leader throughout most of the 5 1/2-furlong turf contest, the gray or roan filly made her move at the top of the stretch and prevailed by a neck.
Mendelssohn began his stud career in 2019 and stands this year at Haras Don Alberto in Chile for a private fee. His initial years as a stallion were spent at Coolmore's Ashford Stud near Versailles, Ky. He stood at Coolmore in 2025 for $15,000.
A half brother to Into Mischief , Mendelssohn first shuttled to Chile in 2020. The 11-year-old son of Scat Daddy was 4-2-2 from 13 starts with more than $2.5 million in earnings. He was bred by Clarkland Farms and trained by Aidan O'Brien for owners the Coolmore partners Susan Magnier, Derrick Smith, and Michael Tabor. Mendelssohn's biggest win was the 2017 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf (G1T).

Mendelssohn's top earner is Awesome Czech. The 5-year-old mare out of the Awesome Again mare Marvelous Martina, is 6-4-4 from 21 starts with $632,490 in earnings. Last time out, she was sixth in the May 16 Gallorette Stakes (G3T) on the Preakness Stakes (G1) undercard at Laurel.
His top earner this year is Mendelssohn Bay, who races exclusively at Meydan Racecourse, with a bankroll of $214,366.
