Group 1-placed mare Bellatrix Star headlines a 275-lot Inglis Digital Australia September (Early) Sale catalog featuring a strong selection of breeding stock as the Southern Hemisphere covering season gets underway.
The four-time stakes winner was a group 2 winner at 2 before winning three consecutive black-type races during the 2024 Melbourne spring as a 3-year-old, culminating in the Schillaci Stakes (G2).
She then finished runner-up to Switzerland in the Coolmore Stud Stakes (G1), splitting the eventual winner and 2024 Golden Slipper (G1) heroine Lady Of Camelot.
Bellatrix Star retired with five wins from just 13 starts.
"She makes a hell of a lot of appeal and it's fairly obvious that she is going to breed million-dollar yearlings for someone if she breeds them looking like her," Inglis bloodstock sales manager and New Zealand representative Brett Gilding said.
Other breeding prospects include Aeolian, a Northern Hemisphere dual winner out of a Dubawi mare, and Chatterley, a stakes-placed half sister to group 1-placed juvenile Mamaragan.
Fly Lightly, a half sister to Vinery Stud Stakes (G1) winner Fenway, is offered in foal to Home Affairs, whose first yearlings sold for as much as AU$1.3 million in 2026. Stakes-placed Smokin' Princess is also among the broodmare prospects, offering buyers access to Fastnet Rock, whose daughters continue to make a significant impact as broodmares.
In total, the catalog comprises 141 racehorses, including 64 fillies, 60 racehorse shares, 51 broodmares, 13 yearlings, eight unraced horses, and two stallion shares in Headwater.
